Day Twenty Nine: Florence to Rome

Today we took the train from Florence to Rome. Jen and I had already booked tickets and I actually booked it for coming into the wrong train station in Rome. So when we got to Rome we had to take the subway to the other train station. Thankfully Markus took our big suit case and we took his little one (we also had the wheel chair and our carry-ons). It was hard but we finally got there.

Markus beat us there and checked in with the old Italian lady who's apartment we were staying in. We rented the room from Airbnb again. This time we never met the people who actually rented the room, only the little old lady (we assumed she was the grandma) who I think might have lived in the room we stayed in, but when we were there she had a bed in the kitchen. When I read some of the reviews on Airbnb of this listing other people had the same confusing experience. And the room we stayed in is not like any pictured on the listings. The only picture we took of the room was of Markus' bed.

After we got settled we went and bought a 24hour hop on hop off bus ticket. It was about 7pm and the last run of the night for the busses so we took one loop around the city as the sun was setting and scoped out what we would want to stop at tomorrow. Since the ticket was good for 24 hours we could use it until 7pm tomorrow (our main day of sight seeing in Rome).
