Day Thirty Three: Better than the pictures...
When we woke up this morning the sky was cloudy and it was sprinkling a little. We were a little bummed because we had plans to go to the town of Oia today and had reservations at one of the best restaurants to watch the famous Santorini sunsets. We prayed that it would clear by sunset and by the time we got to Oia the sky was blue and beautiful. We rode the bus from Fira to Oia (pronounced EE-a), about a 30 min ride. Oia is known for the best sunset views on the island and when you see pictures of Greece, espcially Santorini, they are usually pictures of Oia, with its white washed buildings with bright blue rooftops. Oia was also the location that scene in Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants was filmed. We spent the day walking around, shopping and taking lots of pictures, before our evening reservations for dinner and watching the sunset. Here's some pictures of Oia. Love my beautiful sister!
